I just got the mocs that Sara, of Northern Traders/Just Sara made for me using elk hide. http://www.justsara.net/

If you have very wide feet or just a hard to fit size then do yourself a favor and have a pair of shoes/boots/mocs made just for your feet.  I originally wanted Sara to use some commercial tanned deer hides that I had but thankfully she talked me ouut of it and into elk hide from Spotted Pony Traders (http://www.spottedponytraders.com/).  Trust me when I say that they have the best prices I have ever seen and know what you need, just call them.  Here are some pics, just keep in mind that I am using boot laces and and a leather thong to keep the mocs tied on as there aren't any holes punch in the mocs yet so I can get the best fit;

Also, these tops go above me knees and I will either trim them or just just tie and fold over.  She sewed in triple thickness soles as well, I think they will last a long time if I keep them off pavement.

very nice William, what is the cost of those if you don't mind me asking.

William

I purchased the elk hide from Spotted Pony Traders for about $65 and had it shipped directly to Sara.  She made me both the mocs as well as a pair of cloth pants for $80 so it was around $160 for both.

I would say that was a good price.

I'm happy with it, although there is still some work to be done on my part like punching holes in the mocs for laces and attaching suspender buttons to the pants, but for the price it's all gravy.

Those are some nice moc's  William!! Thanks for the link as well.

I am wearing them right now around the house to get them to conform to my feet just right.  Sara was right when she said that I'd never want to take them off they are so soft and comfortable.

Yes, I am in contact with her and the last attempt at pain control didn't work at all so she had to call it quits, which is a shame because she does great work.  If anyone has an order in with her that hasn't been filled yet, she asked that you call or e-mail to remind her of the specifics but after completing those she is done.
