I'm in need of a simple bench for sighting in my rifles and handguns...it should fold or breakdown easily so it can be carried in a compact car...it would be nice if it included a seat also. Anyone have plans for one?

Heres one similar I built 20 some years ago . My uncle and I both built one at the same time.

You could use pipe flanges and put an angle block wedge on the inward edge of flange to angle legs outward instead of making the flanges.

Thanks Frank! Is it stable? And hows it do on uneven ground?

Its stable . You kind of scoot it around to dig the legs in till it balances. I can shoot sub minute groups with high power at 100 yds with it and sandbags.
I put a little grease on pipe threads and put couplings on them loose to protect the threads. I would use 5/8 plywood or waferboard as minimum top. Paint or varethane it to keep slivers at bay  ;D

I have a book on plywood projects and one of them is for a take apart shooting bench and stool from one sheet of 3/4" plywood.  I'll take a picture of the general exploded view and if you are interested I can scan in the instructions and cutting diagram.
