Well most of you know pretty well I hope to be the epitome of a backwoodsman. As a result Julie and I bought about 40 acres in southwestern missouri, its 95% hard woods and have been untouched in 150 years, at one time it was a part of a couple hundred acre spread and as time went on parcels were sold, the single surviving heir of the original homestead sold the last remainig 40 acres to us dirt cheap as he had no real desire for it, some kind of business man in Austin.

Never the less Julie had the idea that she wanted to include other families like ourselves that didnt own a home but wanted to and enjoyed living the "old way"
( reminder: julie is a 1st generation norwegian farm girl from North dakota)
Kinda semi off grid, woods meat in the smoke house, make your own clothes-ish. So we put the idea to some of our friends with similar interest and before we knew it we had a small community of like minded, traditional muzzleloading friends with families wanting to make a go of this.

As a result we had a community meeting last Sat. and decided to help fund some of this we wanted to start an online general store. In the coming weeks it will come together. So I ask if any of you make and want to market an item for retail please consider us as another avenue to do so.

We all will meet up in the spring and begin the construction phase of this community and i will keep yall posted with plenty of pictures so that yall can share in our progress as most of yall have become a second family to me.

oh and before i forget.... I am also renewing my vows in an official ceremony this christmas to Julie ( we initially had a justice of the peace), her Daddy had a different idea about shotgun weddings, fool man didnt know you only use the shotgun iff'n he aint going to marry your duaghter, silly he thought rocksalt and birdshot would send me running :)

Anyways this is just an update on whats going on around my tribe and i wanted to share it with yall, we are reall excited around here!

Prayer is the best place to start.  Hope that it is very successful.  Sounds like a great place.

so i have been busy putting together an online general store and I would like to invite you guys and gals to consider shopping with us, the store is not totally finished yet becuase i still have about 150 more products to upload but it is officially open for business and I will be sure to post an update when all of the inventory has been logged in.

please feel free to give us a gander and pm me with anything you would like to see advertised, for you gun nuts it will be about another week or so before i have the muzzleloading section up and running, I have a commercial agreement with a distributor but also some rifles being produced by new and upcoming riflesmiths that have agreed to market through me, i beg your patience as I am trying real hard at this but im still fairly new to this stuff so I am slow....

Sound great.  I did get tired of the outhouse in the spring, though. It stayed frozen all winter. Can we visit and see what real hardwood forests looked like?? Never saw one. I must sound ignorant to some of you, but we don't have much hardwood in our forests. Just pine, fir, cedar, aspen, alder, etc. Some oak and some elm, maybe a walnut or two. Not what could be called a hardwood forest. Be nice to see what they are.
