got my hands on a Traditions longrifle. price was right and she has been used but not abused.  It may not be a custom rifle but sure is pleasing to my eyes and not near as heavy as my GP.   This rifle will be used for pb powder shoots. I have met only one shooter that shoots a hawkin style rifle, and that in percussion.  Besides I think the period I want to be pc in is the 1700's.

Excellent! Have fun and practice, practice, practice, and have more fun practicing. Don't forget that when you have any questions to come back and share the event and ask the question!

Great news.... Lets see some pictures when you get a chance...

No name yet, must shoot first,  But waiting for heat to settle down. Work all day in heat, nothing left in me when home.  The pictures don't do her justice, I will leave the patina as is, but the stock will kept polished to highlight the wood grain.   Won't polish brass, although I would like to find someway to remove scratches on brass patch box, but that will remove patina.  Recently learned that the patina on the brass is actually protecting the brass from further corrosion.  Besides, last week I polished the brass on the .45 flintlock pistol and the brass is already tarnished slightly.  The two of them along with a knife and hawk will fullfill the arms in my wardrobe.
