another sign of spring/ a whopper!

This is a spotted salamander. Only comes out after it unfreezes and in spring at night after a heavy rain. Neat looking little creature.

They tend to climb into the cellar window wells around here. We have to go around every afternoon to release any that get caught because they will dry out pretty fast. Only lasts for about two weeks
