You might want to ask Rich Pierc. He sells missouri flints on the site. If he has any pieces big enough and how much. You might be able to look around and find some. Ask one of you sciencs teachers , if there are any area's around where you live.

If you want to know what kind of edge you will have on the pieces of Obsidian The finest surgeons scalpel is 3 microns thick, the Obsidian is
one micron thick. It will cut you so fast the you will not know it until you see the blood. You also need to do the chiping where you are not breathing any of the dust

They do make a fantastic knife as well as a decent tomahawk for hanging on the wall. Extremely sharp, my finger know very we'll. Tried flint napping several times.

I have plenty of scars from obsidian... But it sure is purty.. WE live by a very large obsidian flow...

Crazell, If you decide to go out huntin' obsidian I could sure use a couple good size chunks. I haven't had any to play with in a long, long time. Let me know what you need for some.
