I still got abunch left over from the hind quarters of that buck I got last year. HMM [hmm] I've been feedin it to the little birdies.

I asked this question on another site and was told rendered beef fat will go rancid.They didnt say if you water purified it ,it would not.Still not too clear on the subject.I rendered down some bear fat without water and it has held up pretty good but I'm gettin to the end of it.
I personaly like 100% pure neatsfoot oil,Not the stuff blended with petroleum products.But on my unemployed budget I may go to olive oil.

Olive oil works a little better if patchs start to get a little dry...I don't like neatsfoot oil in my mouth holding patches..olive is ok..

Any tallow will work but sheep and, I think, bear have the advantage of not going rancid on you.
