Finished my first pair of mocs today. Used the Michael Galban video as a guide. Made of moose hide from Two Bears Trading. Probably would have been easier with some lighter weight leather, but I finally finished with minimum blood loss. Glovers needles don't forgive.
Just as I snapped the pic, my cat grabbed one and took off.

They look good and moose hide is the only way to go. Galbans tutorial is a good one with a good style. I've used other patters that didn't turn out as well.

Well, you gonna pull them pistols or whistle Dixie?

That's  some really fine work there. Now what you need to do, is take a leftover scrap of leather, sew it into a small pouch, stuff that full of catnip and sew it shut for the cat. The critter may never stop purring after you do that.

Thanks all. Now I have to make a pair for my wife this week. Learned a few things on the first pair, maybe the next pair will go a little faster.
hungryjohn, the cat is a stray we adopted. I would hate to see her hopped up on catnip, she is wild enough as it is.
hawken50, you definitely don't want me around anything with an "infernal" combustion engine. That's one of the few things I won't tackle. I always make things worse.
