Mongo40 - So did you get those beads? Since they are at Hobby Lobby, I'd say they were India or even China if they are in the bead game yet. Watch those India made ones. The last I knew they were weak glass, but the quality was getting continually better.
When I was hitting the vous they had beads like that that were reputed to be new production from old cane. They were NOT in the least bit cheap.          RBMJS

Put some of them on handmade chain for the red badger and worked fine. also got some kinda mixed turtle shell  colored ones for a long set of chains for pick, brush, and put one long one on my marlin spike so could find it easy.  thinkin have seen them there also in blue.

I'm with RBMJS on this one.

If yer looking for the real stuff; the beads won't be quite that low in price..
This site -
http://www.picardbeads.com will give you an idea of bead types and prices.
The actual real chevron beads; drawn layered cane, were called " Pater Noster " beads..
( Our Father )  - made in Murano, Italy..
In buck skinning there were a lot of campfire made up names - skunk, medicine, Russian blues,
Lewis&Clark, ambassadors, etc.. that had nothing to do with the actual names of beads.
Guess it all depends on how authentic ya want yer beads; and how much moolah ya gots in yer stash!!
Hope this is of help..
We love real beads..
