made these last night heres one of em

 Theyre going to give you a bit of a hard time in the snow. The webbings to thin and to loose but for a first attempt and working with what you have on hand, its a good practice set. Im not trying to be critical, just pointing out a couple things that you may not have been aware of.

thanks voy and yeah i decided to go out into the snow drifts with em now i got wet feet im researching i think im gonna do a different style

  Since it looks like your using saplings as the frame look at some of the traditional styles such as iriquois, ojibwe, or bear paws. Easy to make and proven.

found a pair of old snowshoes at the flea market the other day.. if i remeber correctly they were Boy scouts of america ones from what loked like the 50s or earlier ( not really sure) but i do know that the frames were wood and the bindings were rawhide ( or really looked and felt like it.) might be an option to try rawhide for the bindings. might try using willow shoots and bend them into shape.  just my 2 cents

that was a nice find ky. any of tha BSA equipment is top notch ,my hunting knife is an old BSA sheath knife the handle ,I redid and the sheath but the steel is good steel,I started out in the BSA and never regret the years or my Scoutmaster -William Auty Sr. the finest man I ever knew or learned from!
