Will a hide ..

with the grain left on  still take smoke?  I leave the grain on some of my hides  because i like the way grained buckskin looks   and i figure with a little extra layer that is left by not removing it, it makes for a bit longer lasting mocc sole  I could be wrong  ?  But what i need to know is  will the hide still smoke ?

 It will smoke but just not as well or as fast.

Thats what i was thinking just wanted to ask before i tried it no sense in it if i woulda been spinning my wheels  ...  Thanks Voy
