Decided that i had hem hawed around long enough and it was time to start emptying the freezer   I didnt realize i had so many hides in there .  4 whitetail hides  5 goat hides a couple fallow deer hides  half a Red deer hide that i had brained but never broke due to the weather being to hot and dry  I finished it up today  and The one i dread the most  A very large  long horn cow hide! I'll start with the goat hides and work my way up .  That Beef hide is really gonna wear me out worse yet  if i mess it up  the wife will wear me out and not in a good way!   pnic whipping

How do the goat hides work out - the Crow used antelope hides for their softest leather  - I would think it would be similiar?

Goat makes some great buckskin.  It's soft and very durable, Even today some of the work gloves you can buy are made of goat skin! I have made mocc's out of it and bags  and other such items . so all in all It's good stuff!!
