I know you all will probably laugh inside but, is Rhubarb a fruit or a vegitable? I grew up with my mom growing it but she didn't eat it. I'm curious as to which it is. Don't laugh to hard you all..

Good question. If I had to guess I'd say it's a vegetable. You eat the stem of the plant.   

According to Wikipedia:

Rhubarb is usually considered to be a vegetable; however, in the United States, a New York court decided in 1947 that since it was used in the United States as a fruit it was to be counted as a fruit for the purposes of regulations and duties. A side effect was a reduction in taxes paid.

Now that's interesting. Learned something new!

  LOVE...LOVE...LOVE Rhubarb, grew up with a big patch of it 50ft from our back door, rhubarb pies, cobbler, but my favorite was Mom's rhubarb pudding....big pot bubbling on the stove...hot in a bowl-fresh cream-MMMMMmmhh. Great source of vitamin C as well as lots of other vitamins and a natural laxative as you will find out iffin ya eats too much.
