I made a "snubbie", or belly gun last year out of a 51' Colt. This is what I did with the leftover barrel....and too much time on my hands LOL! Yeah, it shoot's.

Watauga

Cool thmbsup

And how loud is she?

Thumper

I did a pressure test with 10g fff and a wad....sounded like a full on pistol, with 5g, a wad and a .350 rb, it shot through a 1/4inch board and riccoched a couple of times in the garage....I wasn't as loud, but infinitely more entertaining.....got my heart started, that's for sure.

William

That is neat!  How did you make the breech plug?

Thumper

William, I tapped the barrel and screwed in a steel bolt. Then I cut off the head and brazed the top with about 1/4 of brass. The decorative finial is a brass topper for a lamp and i soldered it in place.

That is so cool, I can't see any seam where the brass and steel meet, it looks like they were a homogenous bar that was lathed into shape.  Good job I must say!

As a former Law Enforcement Professional it is my duty to advise you that the afore mention item is most likely not permitted in your state, or some such. It had better come to my house, for safe keeping of course!

Thumper

Ummm, Otter and Red Badger, as a professional law abiding citizen I can't find any restrictions on cannon barrel length....not even in the "Brady Act", sooooo......no LOL! ROFL
