Ladies and Gentlemen, lets all take a moment and pray for the members of this forum and all who live on the Eastern Seaboard.... This Hurricane looks like it is going to rip into these peoples lives and create untold havoc.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are going to be affected by this storm....

and on a lighter note... PM me for my address and I'll take good care of any and all firearms, powder or other accessories you want me to hold on to for you....  cuch

Thank you! Most of us are taking the forecasters seriously, I am as ready as I can be, and the beer WILL be cold when Irene gets here. We are told high winds, 5+ inches of rain, and power outages. I have that covered here, so I am not planning on going anywhere once she arrives. Got plenty of books, and I do need to catch up on some naps. I hope all of the folks south of us ( from here in New Hampster) fare well, I am glad they are taking it seriously too.

Prayers on the way.
This is a lot bigger storm than the one that hit New Orleans.
Hopeful the Governments will work together and minimize the suffering.
The Line Crews are heading east from Indiana already.
So I Pray the power will be back soon.

Hi all, here at my place in New Hampster, we got 6 inches of rain, a little wind (not much for a hurricane), and lost power from 11AM to 8PM. A few roads and culverts washed out, but most of us listened to what was coming, prepared for it, and stayed put. We don't have to water for a few days. See the power of prayers! Thank you!

Over here by the Connecticut river we got a lot more flooding. Had to try three different ways to get in to work going south and the wife had the same problems going North. Should have stayed home.

Where I am here in the middle of NC we were just on the edge of the rain bands and got a few scattered showers.  I have some friends in theOuter Banks area that got hit pretty hard.  One of my duck hunting buddies said he doubted if any of the duck blinds are to be found.  Between the wind and flooding they were pretty well wiped out.But that is trival to the damage and flooding alot of people suffered.  He lost a good part of his roof.  I plann to go down next weekend and take him some shingles and see if we can get it back before more bad weather hits .
