buffalo cider?

any clue to what buffalo cider is. i was on this website and it says buffalo cider "The fluid found in the stomach of the buffalo. Used by both mountain men and Indians to quench thirst."

Tried it out of last years elk and was really suprised.. Elk had been eating juniper and had lots of water  in ponch...didn't taste all that bad...and was definitely water..can see how old timers could have used it to quench thirts if to far to water hole and no canteen....

The Comanche NDNs would ride a horse to ground. They would slash the throat, open the stomach and pull out the guts. The gut was wrapped around the neck of the rider. The rider would mount the extra horse and continue to ride while sucking the contents of the gut.  The Texas Rangers hardly ever caught these warriors on the open plains.  The white men most likely learned this cider drinking from the First Nations.

Very interesting, knew they often had two horses and switched off riding one then the other,  wonder what the surviving horse had to drink?
