New to me hawks

I went to the flea market yesterday and made a good find.  This trader I have got a couple things from before always says "make a pile and make me smile!"   So that is what I did he had a whole bucket of axe heads and hawks.  I dug through them and picked out a hawk and a small camp axe. Then I rounded up 2 sheep shears and a old hickory butcher knife.  He then made me a price that made me smile.  I should have traded him out of the whole bucket full. I came home and put handles in them.

I do believe I'd be smiling too. I really like either of the axes. Ya done good.

Saw an old knife the other day...really odd..now I know what it was.....take one blade of the shear and mount an under belly wood handle on it....put pins right up through wood and top U shape of handle of shear..makes nice knife and you have 2 out of each shear..

like the hawks ! and those shears do make nice knives . you can use wood or antler for handles , I tend to go for antler myself . just a persona preference !

That is what I plan to do with shears ifin I don't trade them off first.  They make a good primitive looking knife.  They make some good blades.  I'll show it when I get it completed.
