Have lost all faith in the groundhog. Woke up to white ground this morning. If this is an early Spring, what would a long Winter have been like?   pnic

We had it in the sixties today, my bees were flyin' everywhere. This is a first this year up here. I figure those five foot snow banks in the shade will be gone in a week or two.

Rocky

It has really changed, you wouldn't believe the problems keeping Bees now.

ErikPrice1@msn.com

Too many rules and regs I bet.

Rocky

Nope, that is the problem it is a combination of things, pesticides, foreign invaders (the bug type,) and maybe us messin' with the genetics of our crops.

They say the bees are all dying off, if thats the case it's only a matter of time before were next. Most people don't fathom how important bee's are.

Rocky

Brokenhawk, you are exactly right.

Hawk: Actually the Bees aren't dying off - the single biggest problem is the Varroa mite that attacks bee colonies and can totally decimate an active colony in two seasons - but not to be out done, Bee experts are working hard to develop bees in this country that are resistant to the mites and actually seek them out and destroy them in the colonies. I tend to stay far away as being allergic, one sting can ruin my day. OK enough of Tim's early morning ramblings? yakyak

I've haven't heard about the Varroa mites. Where did thay come from and how long ago?
