I don't believe there is a specification I think it is a personal preference and what would be available.

im makeing a pair for someone he gave me messurments but it just got me interested on how long they traditionally were

from what I know, they're supposed to wrap around twice...but me not really caring about all that "PC-HC" I wrap once and let 'em hang like fringe!

If your making them than I would make them long enough to go twice. But I still say that if all I had was 1 wrap I'd use it.

there are different styles. here are some i have made,they wrap around only once and tie off with a leather thong.

How ya do the green and white ones, can't figure out if fancy inkle or what , look great all three of them,

the first ones are bead strips that i got from Bulldog lady,the second ones are an old guitar strap and the third ones are from a pair of woven ties from Jas Townsen & son. i just sewed them to a heavy linen backing,added leather end tabs and ties. not much to it really.

Said to my self I did, that there pattern looks familiar,but then  my memory ain't what it used to be.  so glad they worked out for you,  did a nice job of finishing them up.   Look at the advanced inkle book and think there are directions to come close to the guitar strap.  Mt men used what they could get.  Thanks again for photos.
