Remember the elk hide coat I made a while back? Well I've added a cape and some beadwork and think I can now declare it completed.

That is great looking, I'd be proud to wear it to a rondy any day of the week.

Hungryjohn , That is a fine looking coat.  thmbsup  I like it as is , but , have you given any thought of how nice a beaded strip would look on the cape edge ? I"m not being critical  [hmm] just an idea . Fine  work . dntn

Hungryjohn that looks fantastic. If it ever needs a new home I'd be proud to wear that to any rondy.  thmbsup

Nice! I really like the bead work. Are they loomed or hand sewn. Either way they look good.

WOW! that is a fantastic coat. I sew and I think your wife did a spectacular job. Did she buy a pattern? If so, where did she get it? Did she make the pattern? If she did, can I get a copy of it? I don't care how much elk costs, if I get a chance I want one. That is so cool.

I hate to dissapoint you Rocky, but there was no pattern for that. I created the pattern from several drawings from several books. And of course, once I got most of the peices cut, I found a frock-coat pattern that looked exactly like what I was making.

And I should tell you that it wasn't my wife that sewed it together. She can't even hem a pair of pants. I had to do that one myself.
