I have to give credit to  old Two Toes for the carving of the face of the turtle. Here is one of his. Other than the initial cut out with a band saw it is all hand carved

The one in the last pic is made from oak. I can't tell you what Two Toes used for the stain, as it is one of his secrets,

Nice clubs Old Salt, I too like the old war clubs.  There is a site that precarves the old style war clubs, I think it is Tiger Hunt or something like that.  They sell gun stocks and have about four diferent styles of these clubs that are susposed to be from original ball type clubs that they have ruff carved on machines (that you finish) in several different woods.  Price runs around 65 dollars apiece. Not a bad price to start a collection of my own.

All but the ball club on the left, which is hickory, came for 1, 2X8 8 ft long @ $7.00 and couple of cans of stain that I had on hand, and maybe ten hours of work. Thanks to Rick aka Two Toes I gained a lot of valueable
knowledge
