OK, Have had too many people tell me that I am the most BASIC human bein they's ever seen.
When Basic Cigeretts first came out they had a bunch of "Basic Gear" My ex (#3 the Esther wench),
Got all seh could fer me as she was fond of sayin..." You are so basic you could give these people lessons".
That is why I've got what I do at the bottom of ma posts.

I was trading with another guy, and a third guy chirped in, "He's trustworthy:  Dave's a real boyscout."

Well, I pointed out that I WAS a boyscout, and so knew what testesterone-driven, deceitful, wicked little troublemakers real boyscouts can be.

Well, since then I have the nicname "Scouter Dave!"

I spent a lot of time out west growing up, around a bunch of older guys, kinda like a gang of bad uncles, that set me some bad (or really really good) examples. Let's just say that I like to fish, and keep and eat what I catch. My favorite fish is trout, and I can't think of a single camping trip to Wyoming, Montana, or Idaho, that didn't involve at least one wrapped up in tinfoil, with onions, lemon pepper, and butter, sizzling in a campfire. So much so, that when I was in school, my friends called me Trout. I'd kinda like that as a nickname I think. I've always liked that philosophy of give a man a fish and you feed him for one meal, teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life. My bad uncles did right by me.

Back in 1984 or so.  I met this guy that shot blackpowder when I was in the USAF - He named me Dan'l and it stuck for a long time

I actually have 3 nicknames I go by that can be explained here (and several others that cant be used here) The ones that can be used here all tie back to my heritage/persona-- Jacques, Frenchy, and Voy. they all go to my 7x great grandfather-Jacques DeNoyon, a french candian trapper/trader who was the first one to have had the term voyageur used with his name in the fur trade. He was the first european to have explored the area I now live in 1688.
As for the ones that cant be explained here, lets just say there are some youngsters, ladies and sensitive ears here, and the list is a bit long besides.

My two long time voo partners have a couple good names. On a twist of fate one wound up with a trade gun score of 00 so we started callin him double aught buck.He dryballs a LOT so he gets that name too by way of fate his real initials are D.B.
He like to call the other guy with us Two Tounges Labough from Jerimiah Johnston, but after gettin into his cups called him Two tounges Below, It stuck.
After all these years I havnt done anything to get a name yet, though it came close last year when I threw the last log of the evening on the fire in the dark and didnt realize my hawk was stuck in it  (susp)
