Location page

  What do the rest of you think of setting up a page that lists the states and which members live in each state? I think it would be nice to be able to contact others who live in the same states we do for multiple reasons and events. We have alotta members in alotta states and I think it would be cool to have a page list like this.
Any other views or opinions on this idea?

As it is an option in the profile page (I'd like to see it made mandatory, but i don't know how)  the best we can do is ask everyone who wants to participate to modify their profile to put down their location... then we could find a volunteer to go through the 700+ membership list and make a list of each state and country  for those members.... after the research is done and the list is made I would be happy to put it in an appropriate area....

KISS Just set an area much as we do in the listing of Native American Mythology   Plains,   North
Eastern,  South Eastern,   South Western,    North Western,  Foreign Countries, or some such listing,
Ask volunteers to list name and state or country. Just the way I would do it.

i like the idea,i would like to know how many members are from my state. maybe even post a picture of ones self,i like to associate a person with a face.

Could do a thread called location and have sub headings for NE, SE etc and then they can list their state etc...

I think you already have a base for this kind of thread in the Meet Up section don't you? How hard would it be to simply expand that by starting a new thread in that category? Montana Folks: Illinois Folks: Washington State Folks:........etc. ? Then as folks join, they could simply add their name and location to the proper states list? Just a thought....

Ok   I'm a volunteer, never did like duck tape over my mouth ,( been better off some times!!  Just need general concesus, you want to list it by states or areas?  Would have to be at the members discression if he/she wanted to list town or more detailed infor, or elect not to. Think it be a great idea as we  personally are having trouble finding Okie's to join us.  Thought about listing states and those who want can post under state or general quarters a start,  just my 2 cents worth.  I'm game to help.

I think it would be nice to know if we had every state covered by at least one member.  Of course with Texas we would need to break it up into North, East, South, West, Panhandle, and Central Texas

Now back to reality!  It wouldn't be to much of a chore if you busted the membership up between 5 or 6 people.  Each one to take a section and once they are tallied they can be combined into one list.

OK the area is up -

Just do like Bulldog lady and I did for Oklahoma.  1st person from the state/country puts the location as the heading the in the text your general area... like i did with "just outside of Tulsa..."
