I just heard on the Monday episode of Coast to Coast (track 7 or 8) that when Henry Kissinger was at the G4 conference he stated that the American guns would be confiscated in or by September.
This is just a heads up for in case they are right on this.

Who is going to confiscate our guns and how?

Is this a general muzzle loading question?

kit_carson

it wasnt a question, it was a statement of fact. and this affects us because we all own guns! duh!

hungryjohn

I had heard from another site that it was suppossed to start in july under the guise of a national terrorrist drill.

Ok guys...I think that on this situation one needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and ask themselves if they really think that this could happen.  I don't think our govt would move forward with a policy that they know would result in another civil war.  One guy may not care, but there are more people in Congress who know that that is a risk and they are not going to be willing to take that big of a risk.

You share a good point and I understand that this is TOTALY different,  but when smoaking bans and seat belt laws are passed through. (if yar seen driving in Wisconsin without yer seetbelt on ya can get pulled over fer no ather reason) I understand that it would be a pain for this to pass but I wouldnt put it passed THEM to go through with it.  as for another civil war, I dont think that most citizens of the USA are capable of uniting and being patriotic enough to do such a thing.  Wear a minority,  and its too bad flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa flwa

With all respect...
When a fighting dog has become damaged and used up there is no practical recourse but to put it down, to replace it. We have been taken out back and our collar is being slipped off.

Ok given what has been said here and other places... I suggest we take the following actions...

1. Call your Congressmen and Senators and let them know how you feel.
2. Call all your friends who feel the same way and have them call their Congressmen & Senators...
3. Join your Local and State Firearms Advocacy groups... The NRA, The NMLRA, and SCI just to name a few....
4. Help out in your local areas with Hunter Safety, and Conservation  Issues...

It is my humble opinion that we have just sat and watched our rights erode... If we do not voice our opinions to the right segment of the population we will get nowhere.

I would also suggest we move this to open topics..... as this encompasses all firearms not just muzzleloaders...

People...as you all know, discussion of politics is not allowed on this forum. However continued discussion of this particular subject is acceptable as long as it does not develop into an argument. And there will be no mention of possible insurrections or revolutions...this approach is totally off limits on this forum.

first out of respect for Dennis and this forum, because when the read my response they will lock or delete this topic.

remember, politics are allowed at MUZZLELOADING LIFE, and theres a link in my signature

OK to the topic at hand, for those of you with blind faith in your government and the second amendment, go stand in the street with your eyes closed. you know what will happen, you'll get dead. this is one of those deals where you NEED TO INVESTIGATE  any and all rumors to determine where we actually stand. if you think they cant and wont take your guns your damned fools and deserve to loose them. i speak from personal experience! im sure you all remember the First Amendment? you know the one, Freedom of Speech. well 3 years ago i got locked up for 60 days for saying something.

now jamminjim is on the right track with these suggestions

the more NOISE we gun owners make the better off we are!

these god damned liberals are getting to be to much! just 2 days ago i had one freak out about that pic of me and my grandson in my camp because there was a pistol in it, saying stuff like hes to young to object! like what boy doesnt want to go camping and shooting with grandpa? and shes threating me with a visit from social services.

my point is we need to have our side heard! make noise is you want to keep your guns. remember the liberals have the country right now! lock stock and barrel, which means we are screwed!

its been 2 days since i was on the phone with Congressman Jerry Lewis (yes i get the irony) on this exact subject, and the news isnt good!

Is there a link we can go to so we can here this for ourselves?  I'd like to get the documentation so I can have facts in hand when I call my representatives....

Thanks...

I've got to agree with just about everything I've heard on this topic so far.

As a former member of the U.S. Navy special warfare community I've seen first hand what happens when a goverment abuses the rights of its people. And it always results in a lot of pain and suffering for all concerned.

Now I'm not saying tat we should take up arms against the government. But action does need to be taken before it's too late. Do get involved on the political front. Along with the above mentioned courses of action, add to that some letter writting campains. Believe me, politicians get rea nervous when they see stacks of mail from angry voters.

At the same time, we can all be preparing for the worst. I seem to remember hearing about some folks a while back that went through something very similar. They used every non-violent means at their disposal to try and make changes to the way they were being treated by the ruling power of the time. Thet even kept trying after the fighting began. The end result was a place called the United States.

My point through all this is to urge all of you to please not get all excited just yet. Go ahead and prepare for the worst and what action you feel you should take if it happens. But at the same time, actively work towards stopping it if you can.
