Anyone, and I mean anyone, that stands up and foul mouths another persons legal means of hunting is a Cannibal and a useful idiot to PETA and the rest of them!

Great articles both of you.

But we must also endeavor to get all hunters to respect not only each other, but the non- hunter and his/her property also.  The destruction of property should not be tolerated.  how many stop signs have we seen shot up?  What kind of image does that leave Joe Public? Who may have never had any inclination to hunt or stop us from hunting...but now fears for his safety from the gun nuts?

It does us no good if we have the "good Ol Boy" image out there and "Bambi" competing with what we really are...

Story i like to tell in Hunter Ed classes goes roughly like this...

Mom Dad & little Sally are going to Grandma's house for the Holiday... They stop at the diner for breakfast and in comes ol' Gus, ripe from three days out in the field and still has gunk on his boots and legs from getting his buck... He walks over to three of his buddies and  starts talking loudly about the thrill of the kill...  Fast forward to the next trip poor little Sally is a little older and just coming out of therapy for the traumatic incident last year...
Big Joe pulls up next to their car on the highway with the nice big (dead) elk staring with those big dead eyes at little Sally.... More therapy.... Several years later Sally is going out with the governors son and the governor needs the youth vote so he asks Sally to be on the Wildlife council....  Sally says yes and when it comes time to set hunting regs Sally says No because she is still traumatized from the experiences of her youth...

BTW true story out of Colorado...

I agree, never did go along with the trophy tied to the front of the car, helps rot meat real fast, and is disresepctful to the animal. People shooting up private and public property need a swift kick in the shiorts.

Remember that we need to get the word out that poachers and those that shoot signs etc.  are not hunters but criminals and hunters are against them also.  Here in Texas we have an 800 number where we report such actions to a program called operation game thief.

I'd be willin to bet there are toll free numbers for most if not all States.... I know there are numbers for Oklahoma and Colorado ....

  Great article.
There has been on time where I have spoken out against the way some people hunt and I feel it was a justified complaint for the party I spoke out against--but that was an individual party--not a type of hunting. It goes like this. My deerstand was near the property line-ON PRIVATE PROPERTY, and abutting private property on the other side. The hunting party next door did their "deer drives" by walking accross their property shooting at random in any direction without even looking where they were shooting. They were on their own land and stayed on their own land but their fired bullets did not. They had bullets hitting the tree my stand was in WHILE I WAS IN IT!!!! Now thats a poor excuse for a hunter.  I just politely returned the favor---I shot a branch out of a tree just as the one who shot my stand walked under it.
We soon came to an understanding, and they changed their hunting habits to something a bit more safe.
