DB, I really have to compliment you on that pack you made, and I think you'll have to draw up some plans for the rest of us.

I also dig your mocs, did you make those too or are they store bought?

Thanks! Be glad to draw plans for any who want them. As to the mocs, bought them from Minnitonka. Jean said his had lasted for many years so thought I'd give em a try...so far very happy with them.

i got mine in 1992, and really have worn them alot, they arent historically acurate, but they make a cheap (so to speak) solution till you can get something different.

Red Badger

DB,

Draw em up and post em on the board... I want a copy of the pattern, and I'm sure others do to.

I agree with the horse or mule idea, then traveling is light, just a walking stick (that you need) and a set of reins (Keys to the horse), and a pistol on the belt, (the rifle is on the horse) .

And if your trekking partner is not talkative, you can talk to the horse, (they are great listeners).

Ian,
You got that right about horse being a good listener! Also you can`t beat them as a good set of extra eyes to let you know when something is amiss!

oh dennis, you wanted to go tradtional on the food, go read "check me out" on my forum, my buddy ben posted what you need for 3 days. yu wont like it, weighs about 10lbs

Dryball

If that's the quantity of food you and Ben require for a little ole three day hike, then you both must gain five pounds ! My total food weight is less then two pounds....and I'll have trouble eating all of it.

Dennis

it aint just that, did you see the extra equipment? to cook with and such? it 10lbs of food, then cooking stuff

Dryball
