Looking for a source of raw horns that I can experiment with before I tackle making that giant horn from my pa-in-law a drinking horn with lotsa carvings.  Thought that I would mess up something else first.

It's not what tool you use to hunt with.
It's that you use the tool Legally and Ethically

Track of The Wolf has good quality horn but they aren't really cheap.  Tandy leather has horn also but you really need to inspect them personally.  Many are long , not cheep, and tend to be overly thick at the base or even tip.  This is ok in some uses but not suitable for all purposes.  I usually get my horn from Track of the wolf.  I like dealing with them.   Other black powder supply houses have horn but they can send you some ugly stuff.  Dixie the worst, you never know what you will get from them, some things good some not so good.  The E-BAY idea might suit your plans if cheep enough.  You can always use the horn for something and if cheep enough, you can't go wrong.
