The last 2 weeks have been some of the worse in my life. My 86 yr. old mother-in-law has been staying with us for a while and we are just finding how far into debt her son has gotten her. I have spent every morning this week at the bank trying to sort through all this and trying to pull credit reports and decide what to do.

But much worse, last Wed. I lost the best friend I ever had. After a 15 years my old dog Lacy had to go to the other side. She stuck with me through thick and thin, never complaining about a poor meal, bad weather or hard times. She was allways ready to go no matter where or when. She looked after us and our house for a long time. A true friend, she is going to be missed horribly. Her best friend Squealy Dog is absolutely heartbroken and its hard to see her going through this too.

Anyway, that's why I've been absent. The short amount of time I've have been able to log in here has been a bright spot in an otherwise dismal period so thanks to all of you.

Oh my goodness.  I am sorry to hear about your troubles.   I am sure that is a very stressful situation.  If you need ears to bend or prayers let us know.  If we were located near you I would offer to help you out in any way possible, but I don't think that would work long distance.  You are in my prayers.

Been busy gettin' ready to take off for a week. Goin' down to Gordonsville, VA. so the wife can get some down-time.(no phone turned on, no e-mail) When we get back, I have to get a breathing test to check on the COPD. Then I have to go out to Pittsburgh to get a CAT scan of my kidneys to check on cysts and stones. I have to get ready for trout season on the 18th of April. And if I can get a couple of good days, I want to get to the range with some of my guns. No rest for the wicked.
