Pretty cool.  I thought about doing some beaten copper work out of copper pipe and fittings.  Think that would work?

Stumblin Wolf

Nice work! I gotta find me a swage block!

Thumper

Nice work!! I have a poor mans swage block....a large round of wood that I made a bowl shape in with a 4.5" grinder. For finishing the edges I use a 2" hitch ball I smoothed out and it's mounted in my vise. Have you seen the price on used swage blocks lately?? Through the roof!!

Stumblin Wolf

That sounds like MY swage block! Funny when it catches on fire! I got a source down in alabama that makes swages, the one I want has a fireplace shovel on one side and a few different size spoons on the other. $145 shipped last time I checked, US made. I'll see if I can't find that guys address.

For dishing tools if you can find an old oxygen cylender cut the bottom off of it then turn it upside down.  WARNING:  USE A HACK SAW TO CUT THE CYLENDER.

nifeman makes a lot of stuff from copper pipe and elbows and such he says it works great.

Jae, it looks good man! What did you use for the handle? It's a bit pricey, but if you anneal and hammer a piece of 1/2" tubing flat, put a couple of bends in it you got a handle then put your forged cup on you just made a ladle. Gonna have to get together...Bud
