well a couple of weeks ago i was on the desert side of the mountian(way less snow) do some exploring, found a mine that ive known about for quite some time. real pretty country thought you all might enjoy these!

the date on the concrete is 1880. this was a foundation for an aireal tram for moving the ore


this is whats left of some of the worknig structures, yes those are hand hewn timbers!


this gives you an idea of the country side. lone valley is 4 miles wide and 14 miles long. from up here you get 200 mile visibility


and this son of a b**** nudged me when i had my head in a hole for a mine! scared the snot out of me! almost shot him. this "burro" was big all of 13-14 hands, and a leftover from our mining days. the miners turned alot of there burro's loose over 100 years ago, and we have large heards of them running wild now

i'll tell you the truth, it woulda been a great video! damn near wet myself! you gotta remember we got mountian lions and bears here!
