How to center a front sight installed in a dovetail ??

Hi,

I regularly read this forum; many of my "problems" were solved by their members with their posts ( even if they do not know how their posts were by "silent" members ).

I would like to know what is the best way to center a front globe sight on the barrel....

Level the rear sight thats on barrel in vise . Place a piece of soapstone on bottem of level place soapstone on barrel behind front site and when vial in level has bubble centered make a mark on the barrel . That will be center witness.
