Are there any members living in central California? I'd like to get together with someone to do some shooting...surely I'm not the only one here? Also, does anyone know of a rendezvous in central Ca.?

Hey Ned, I live in central Calif.  About half way between Bakersfield and Fresno near the mountains.

Dryball

Yes, I know...but if you remember I ask you about once a week and still no shoot in..what is it now, about 5 months? Hmmm...could be I'm wasting my time? Maybe you'd rather be with your beautiful, intelligent wife then me? :o Nahh...cant be! You have blackpowder instead of blood in your veins...maybe your just getting too old? ;D Yes, that must be it!

Not too old, just worn out from working all that overtime at the hospital.  Maybe some day I can retire and have more time to shoot, if I don't loose my pension with all the financial troubles these days..............bullfrog

kit_carson

you know you could always come south and shoot with me and my friends up here in big bear, heck we even have like 5 rondy's down here

Dryball

Would like to, but I don't know the area.

then take the 5freeway south to the 210 freeway east to where it ends the 330 heads up

Dryball

When's the next rendezvous? And how is it structured, strict down to counting the buttons on your shirt, more easy going but still pre 1840 or so, or prefer dressing the part but you don't have to, or inlines allowed....shudder...?

the next one up here is nice, they dont really have "period police" all you got to be is close. and they do not allow "inlines" any sidelock will do, providing it has a wooden stock. thats labor day weekend. now theres another coming up this spring in San Diego county, near Julian in may http://manzinita.homestead.com/ ours up here http://www.bighornmountainmen.com/ and then this one in Oct. http://laguna_mntn.homestead.com/

Ned, our Rondy, the Desert Markmen R&P Club, most always is held May 10th or the week of I should say. Informal, Primative & Civilian camping areas, fire pits, Pine Trees...at about 3500-4000ft. Been snowed on there.
It's about 12 mile from my house...lots of Traders last year usually a good turn out.

Easiest way ta tell ya  from Central CA is : head South on the INT.5 to the 14fwy North, exit Pearblossum Hwy / Angeles Forrest Hwy[2], exit branches the 1st is the [2],
Head South towards the tall Mountains on the Angeles Forest HWY., you'll pass Mt. Emma Rd. Blue sign on left, keep goin' you'll pass a Monument National Forest about 4ft. tall on the right, a line a Pine trees all lookin' the same on the left prepare to stop past that last tree and turn left into the big yellow Forestry Service Gate...you'll see a Desert Marksman Sign...will be open for Rondy.
