Daylight savings time has started, and it's time to "Spring Forward" into another black powder season. The skies are clearing up, at least out here in the west, and the cool mornings are the best time to make smoke and thunder.

Let's get going!
I am the one your mom warned you about!

Beaver Creek Spring Rendesvous is this week. I will be in Sterling Oklahoma for most of the week helping set up and shooting or working the stages.
All events like this are so much smaller than they used to be and we need to support any club that is still shooting.

It's past time to wake up, smell the coffee and get going.  Going?  I don't know where but you just can't set your butt down in one spot without moving at some point.

The past 8 months have been trying over here at the Hanshi ranch.  First it was snow, snow, snow then cold, cold, cold.  Usually both of these together.  It's called "winter" for a reason, I guess.  My brother, hotfxr, doesn't have to worry about that kind of weather, but as for "moi", I just take it for granted.

Anybody want to say something?  I'd appreciate a few words of wisdom from anyone.

Spring rendesvous results:

We had a decent turnout with a fair number of campers and shooters.
The prizes were good and the raffle table was loaded with prizes thanks to club members, especially Al who donated about 10 "mystery box" prizes that were mostly small leathercraft projects with beadwork. I won a beaded tobacco pouch with a small pipe but I don't smoke. It is still a nice piece.

For the $25 entry fee you could do any or all of the available events which were Rifle, Pistol, Smoothbore and Novelty plus Knife, Hawk, Fire and Archery.

Sounds like a good time was had by all. Those are the types of events worth going to. Thanks for the follow up report.

I've only been to two rondys and was only there for a morning & afternoon.  It was fun and I got to shoot, which is what it's about, and got a prize - for placing, not winning.  Fun seeing all these folks dressed up for history.

It snowed right up untill April fool day.  Still some snow talk but nothing so far since the end of March.  But I wouldn't put anything past Maine.
