Blackfeet its good to have you back.

With the move to Oklahoma I have a range again but it is farther away and a little harder to find ways to shoot muzzleloaders but I also joined a rendezvous club that shoots monthly. Their range is only open during monthly matches and during spring and fall rendezvous.

If we get a postal match going I will find a way to do it.

Hello Flintboomer, it is great to be back!

Sorry for the more recent absence, I had to finish the boiling and clean up from the sugaring season.

I cut and pasted this from the earlier matches as my memory is......what was I saying?

Official target (see rules)  Download here:

https://bisonballistics.com/downloads/nra-mr-31-target-600-yard-reduced-for-100-yards

One offhand @ 25 yds with longarm of choice.
One Handgun @ 25 yds
One Benchrest target @ 50 yds
Shoot what you will.
You are NOT required to shoot in all matches. Each is a separate match.
Five (5) shots per target
Any caliber but remember that the score is from the center of the hole so shooting a .69 cal is no advantage.
This is not a 'One and Done'.     Shoot as many as you want and send in your best

A novelty target will be found and added with any special rules.
Targets can be mailed to me here.

There are still two weeks of April so when would you like to start?

Flintboomer, have I have missed anything?

About half of April is still with us.............however.   Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way or maybe the only one with, AHEM! a problem but I would like a longer bit of time to shoot and mail the targets.  So can we call this a MAY shoot??  Or even from a specific day in April to the same date in May??  I'm not trying to be a PITA but am being one regardless I'll admit.  srndr

Another way to do it is to follow your orders planned how you like.  thmbsup
At any rate what are the details and it may take me longer just to get the targets. &)
I'm game for whatever but likely will only manage one or two of the matches.  'SNTY"

I suggest calling it the April/May shoot even tho April is half over.

Lets just do the 3 targets this time and see how much interest there is. Does that sound good Blackfeet?

Blackfeet

That sounds very good to me. It will give everyone time to finish spring cleanup. Hopefully the fire season won't be too bad this year.

So, this is the April/May shoot.
Offhand @25 yards
Handgun @ 25 yards
Benchrest @ 50 yards

I can't get the target to print at all.  I  do have a few that were fired on in past shoots and know the dimensions of the bull and the whole paper.  Is there any way I can get around this?  I have some other bullseye targets that I may be able to alter to be the same size as the "printable" one.

Hanshi,
I am not sure why you can not print a PDF but I have an idea. If the members are willing, I will print off a bunch of these targets and mail them out at the actual price of shipping. You could get a years worth in one envelope or just a few to copy on your own printer. In that case, I can fold one up and send it for free for you to copy. Just send me your address.

HAPPY ACCIDENT!!!  We've had too much rain lately with flash floods.  Even our small, maybe (5000?), down town, souls...and heels, flooded.  For only the second time in 5 years our basement flooded.  Very bad, yes?  Well maybe not.  I spent yesterday in the basement pulling up puzzle mats and getting things safe.  Lo and behold, while I rummaged through wet and not quite wet stuff I found an unremembered stash of all kinds of targets.  I also found a file with master copies I'd used in the dim past for Xerox copies.  Never knew they were there.  I found the master and a handfull of copies of the "600 yd reduced to 100 yd" targets.  So I'm good with that and don't need to fight with the printer trying to make it print.  :applause:

:applause:  I was just in the process of popping a half dozen into a mailer for you. Good news indeed. The envelope had not been addressed yet so if anyone else is in need, let me know.
Everything here is flooded as well. I am having more runoff than we had this spring. The dang lawn is 8 inches high with standing water so I can't mow a lot of it.

Blackfeet

Just received the first target from Flintboomer and as usual, he set the bar high. Going out back now to blow the dust out at 50 yds hntr

Update:
Oops, I guess not today. They have a horse trails ride today and ride down the road just across from us so it will wait. At least I have found most of my stuff and have it in my range pail.

Red Badger

When did we decide the end of this shoot will be?  I need to remeasure my range after I lost my target stand and bench due to high winds... 10 year old stands can only take so much you know...  pnic

We figured to do them as before, a monthly shoot so this one is the May shoot. I managed to burn some powder last weekend after plowing a lane through the huge sugaring woodpile.

Hanshi

I may have to do my target for the JUNE shoot instead of the May shoot.  With frequent rain and distractions such as medical visits  I am just now getting ready to shoot.  This weekend is rain so next week should be shooting weather, but we'll see.

The targets Xerox(ed) from the master I found are usable but not quite as purddy as the originals.  The black circle is good if not as shiny and dark as the original.  That's okay since my shots usually go into the white.  I did shoot a couple of test targets on Thursday, but without even including my rustiness I had problems with my .36.  I guess I've gotten to the point where these tiny little balls are h@%l to load with my shaky hands.  I kept dropping the balls, patches and a few tools; Aaaarrgh...!

I've decided to use my .45 flint rifle, surely I can handle those larger pieces and get the shots off.
ANYONE WANT TO CHALLENGE ME FOR LAST PLACE?  I'VE STAKED MY CLAIM ON IT.
