cva frontier rifle

I have an old CVA Frontier that I bought as a project gun. The bore was rusty and it was an ugly duckling cosmetically. I got it working and shooting a group and not a pattern. Its been hanging on my wall being little used. Recently, I decided to buy a new barrel and lock for it and turn it into a better shooter. It has the 28 inch barrel and I have heard that these guns were pretty accurate. Any of you guys have any experience with this model?

had one many moons ago , when the world was young !  are they a good rifle ? yeah , they are just as accurate and reliable as the cva kentuckys and hawkens , think of it as a " hawken poor boy "  . had mine for a few years , used it often , had no complaints , then did an upgrade to a thompson renegade !  it`s a decent beginner rifle ! and with a little work can actually be made to look as good as it shoots !

Years ago I had a CVA rifle not so well built from a kit.  A gift from a friend and it fired okay.  In fact it was darn accurate at 50 yds.  I killed deer with it for a few years (a percussion) and it never failed me.  Eventually I simply used it as "trade beads".  Model?  No idea except that it was a cheap rifle.  I've found inaccurate rifles very hard to come across; they all seem to be good shooters nowadays.
