I need my  grandson to work down another piece of hide so I can make another sheath.  Gave a guy  at church a couple of worked elk hides last Sunday,  He was one hide shy of being able to sew-up his hunting jacket and my  hands no longer let me do such work... He seemed shocked and happy when I told him "no charge" just show it to me when finished....

made this about a week back , was bored needed something to do  , blade is from an old hickory paring knife that was my fathers for about 30 years , handle was split , so I gave it a new life ! little devils do come in handy , I`ve used one as a patch knife for years !

thmbsup I have a few old knives that could get a new life like that, great idea. Like your artwork on the sheath too dntn dntn

You two guys are amazing; seems yall can craft just about anything.  Both those knives look really nice.  The only knife I have that would make a usable "neck knife" is a very good one but it is modern with a rigid sheath of some kind of polymer.  The "triangular" blade IS sharp.

Maybe it's just me but the thought of a knife anywhere near my neck is kinda creepy.  A knife in my boot, waistband, pocket, strapped to my calf, in my hat, hidden in a coat/jacket, strapped to an arm, the back, hip or a dozen other places is more reassuring to me.
The two little knives directly between the sword sheath and the square credit card knife would excel as neck knives but they are both modern with polymer sheaths.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.
