Hello all, This has nothing to do with primitive stuff. just a general question. using a canvas pouch for a first aid kit. would like to waterproof it using bees wax. however when I smelled it, it smelled like honey. do I need to be concern about it attracting unwanted guests?  Thanks

If is raw unfiltered wax, it is possible it might attract a bee or two, but only if you leave it sitting outside. Bees will steal wax to expedite hive building, or just patching up damaged spots.
Just coating it with wax will not really do the job. It will tend to flake off and it doesn't really get into the fibers.
A better solution is to mix beeswax with oil,(boot oil, neetsfoot oil). Mixing oil with melted wax makes a stiff cream like compound that, with a little heat, will penetrate the canvas and keep it waterproof.
I am the one your mom warned you about!
