Too slow around here so I thought I'd correct a dumb question that seems to pop up from time to time AND ASK IT THE RIGHT WAY.  Instead of "If you dould have only one...", how about doing it this way.  "IF YOU COULD HAVE ONLY EIGHT (8) LONG GUNS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE"?

Speaking for (only) myself eight would still not be sufficient; but.......

First off, a Whitworth Hexagonal rifle, the next 4 would be Lancaster style flintlocks, 42"+ barrels in .30, .40, .50, and .58. Then a coach gun, Hatfield SMR in .50 and a Howdah pistol in .58.
I am the one your mom warned you about!

1.  A Kibler SMR in .45. 2.  A 42" X 50 early Lancaster modestly carved & engraved with super wood.  3.  A 44" X .32 handy, lightweight SMR.  4.  A German style jaeger .54 X 31" w/ carving & engraving.  5.  My current "Mississippi" rifle.  6.  A 38" X .36 SMR.  7.  A nice flintlock pistol .54 X 8".  8.  A really nice 20 ga X 38" flint smoothbore.

Might be subject to additions/deletions.

My .50 Pedersoli Kentucky BEFORE I wore it out.
My Mongrel made .40 late Lancaster flinter.
Old Ugly: my .54 badly put together TC Hawken with the Sharon barrel.
At least one shotgun of some sort but preferably with 2 barrels and 2 triggers.
I should probably stay with black powder types, BUT:
One modern 9mm.
One lever gun in .44 or .3030.

I could add a few more "I wishes" but that makes 6.
