Little Guns?

Just thought I'd start something up concerning one of my most favorite topics: muzzleloaders.  Specifically, I'd like to discuss "the little calibers".  I have owned a couple of .32s and a .36.  One .32 and that .36 are still with me today.  A good ways back I also acquired a .40, which is borderline, IMO, and as much like the larger bores as it is like the smaller ones.  My favorite is the .36 iron mounted SMR I still treasure.  I shoot it more than any of the others.  It handles like a toy, is splendidly accurate and is major fun.  What about the rest of you?  What's the consensus on the "iddy biddy" rifles?

.36 SMR.

The .32 I'm still working with.

Forgive the full size photos but the "thumbnail" just refused to work.  noway

Although not traditional in any way what so ever, I have a bit of a thing for the TC Seneca, this one is in 36.

My only small bore in rifles is my Mongrel made Lancaster style .36. On an earlier post I shared that it shot a 5 shot group at (I can't remember it) yards the size of a nickle. And yes of course it was over a sand bag.

I have a 36 cal left hand flint. Before eye site got bad I could pet 3 rounds in the target at 75 yards that you could cover with a quarter. Now I don't know if I could even see the target at 75 yds .

To quote Matthew Quigley  "I never had much use for one."
The smallest I go is .45.

I have a .22 caliber ML that I built for my grandson. Shoots a .22 skirted pellet with a .22 ling rifle case of FFFg powder. Full stock with single trigger.

I was able to put 5 shots under a dime at 75 yards.  Course I had to walk up down range for 73 yards to shoot it.  Still, for me that ain't bad.  hntr

I never put shots under a dime but I have fuzzy memories of putting dimes in shot glasses.
