If your hardware store has one of those thread checkers in english and metric sizes just take the nipple out and check it at the hardware store.

I didn't think about that, thanks for reminding me. As for the twist rate, I dropped a bore light down it and although this is hardly exact, it seemed to be a slower twist compared to, eyeballing only, my 1/48 .54 rifle. The rifling also seems rather shallow although that might not matter at all and I plan on only shooting RB in it. One thing I am going to look for is a set of shooting sticks as at 54 + inches this is the heaviest rifle I've ever had and it's all in the nose!

nice hawken   thmbsup found a flinter he made  that sold a while back ! did a nice job on it !

I'm sure you all know the original Hawken rifles were deep groove 1-48 twist. To be a good copy it should be the same.
