Hello everyone. I would appreciate some luck and best wishes from all you good people. I'm going in for surgery at 9am on my right shoulder. Don't when I tore my rotator cuff in half, but I need it done. Arms hanging about 2 inches lower than my left.
Everyone one have a good week.

ouch ! that`s gotta hurt , dislocated both my shoulders years back , but this past january I broke my collar bone on the far left , and it healed crooked . hurts to do anything left handed , but no insurance so I just tolerate it ! hope your surgery is successful , and your recovery fast ! prayers on the way !

Tore mine years ago, also had no insurance so it had to heal on it's own. It did, but it took a long time and hurt like blazes.
Prayers up.

Good luck with your surgery. I tore both rotator cuffs over a decade ago. A few cortisone shots and ibuprofen have kept them from getting real bad.

The docs tell me that the surgery is relatively easy to recover from. However, it's the rehab that is the key. Go to a facility rather than trying rehab on your own. The techs are ruthless and will force you to do it right. We tend to baby ourselves when it hurts real bad but those sadistic techs don't.

"No pain; No gain" is true with shoulder rehab.

Thank you all for the best wishes and prayer's. Surgery took about 3 hours. Home now. they repaired it and cleaned up arthritis and a few bone spurs. They did a nerve block that still has it all numb probably till morning. therapy starts Friday. I love therapy thmbsup.
Thanks again everyone.

thats good news ! just look on therapy as a necessary evil !  when I had my left elbow shattered , I ghad two surgeries on it , and three months of work . was scheduled to start therapy a week after the surgery , went twice , when the therapists decided I was doing so good on my own that I did`nt need it ! lol really it was the fact that I`m not a quitter , and I had an excellent orthapedic surgeon who did a great job !when I told him he did good work he said " I had nothing to do with it , we were really lucky . apparently someone likes you ! I pulling for a swift recovery, crazell.  I can empathize.  I had to have both shoulders done about 18-19 years ago; though in tandem and not the same time.  PT took 6 months on my right and 4 months on the left; that was passive therapy that the therapist did for me.  Each was followed by another 6+ months of me doing the movements.  It took, in total, about 2-3 years and I got back only around 80% use back.  However mine was a very bad case and yours should not take so long.

I don't exactly why shoulder problems are so prevalent.  My wife also had shoulder surgery years ago; we helped each other with our therapy.  I remember when I have my surgeries that I couldn't lie down at all because the pain was so great (and I have a very high pain tolerance).  So I slept sitting upright in a recliner for a total of more than 3 months; and both shoulders still hurt sometimes and I'm very limited compared to before surgery - I can now only do girl push-ups and they hurt some.

The doctor said most of his cases were caused by bench pressing.  I was a boxer at that time and was told that contributed to the damage.

Prayers sent for a quick recovery and keep up with the therapy. Do all they have you working at and the therapy will be successful.
