hntr I try to check out everything each day and hope to have time to post something.  But NOOOOOO...  Everybody seems to want to post, post and post, leaving the rest of us to hope for less traffic TOMORROW.  It's like trying to get a word in edgewise when everybody's talking.  Geeeze!  Rest those fingers, guys, and let the others post.   [hmm] wtch pnic

:'(    sad ,  but Reverse Psychology  does NOT work on "Old Farts" noway.  And some of the younger, soon to be old Farts.   I too check in, everyday and hope to see new posts ,  and pictures.  I especially like  pictures,  because I get to see  places  that I otherwise will never see.   I remember when I first found this site,  was just getting into Muzzleloaders.  Had many questions concerning which rifle to get.  Since I was introduced to Black powder muzzleloaders with an In____.    Still have most every rifle I bought, did sell my friend the Traditions Pennsylvania Long Rifle that he liked,   but I rarely got to shoot.  When I worked full time,  I could not wait to shoot on the weekends or over holidays.   But, then I retired and something changed, Had all the free time and no desire to shoot???   But now I started a new job, driving school bus,  hopefully, it will help rekindle my desire to get out and shoot.  Desperately need to work up an accurate load for the 58 Flintlock, that Mongrel restocked for me as well as the 50  caplock that he also  re-barreled.  That re-barreled stock  has a  Numrich 1/66 barrel and should be quite accurate,  if I ever work up a load.

I am afraid I have too many rifles.  Also have several extra barrels that I should never have bought.    BUT  when the Black Powder bug bites,  it keeps biting.   But I have used the 36 cal Douglas barrel in the Cabelas stock.  and the 54 cal Hawken barrel in the CVA Hawken stock as well as the 54 cal Hunter barrel in the Great Plains stock.  3 rifles with barrels in 50/54,  50/54 and 36/50.   Not to mention all the molds I have just to make different caliber round balls and conicals.

There you go, Hanshi,  a post,   [hmm] [hmm]  maybe reverse psychology CAN work on a 70 year old hdslp , Old Fart.  flwa

Pilgrim, I'll be happy to relieve you of a few of those guns you have no desire to shoot.  I'll send you my address.   ROFL

I still have every BP gun I ever bought, won, swindled the owner out of, and any other way you can get a BP gun... except the one I bought specifically to sell.

But Alas, I think that Pilgrim may have stumbled on something ... But not the work thing... I think the more guns we get the less we shoot.  Maybe it is because we have such a hard time deciding which one to shoot?

Those bugs bit me mightily! I only have been shooting traditional muzzleloaders for about five years, starting when I was approaching 65 years old. Now, I have more than I can shoot, both pistols and rifles. Once they are in my hands, it is difficult or near impossible to let them go. This graphic demonstrates the problem well:

I committed a nearly unpardonable sin at Wool-A-Roc this fall... friend asked me if I wanted to buy his trade gun... for a not unreasonable sum... I said....GASP   :-& ... No I have to many as it is and promised Bulldog Lady ( Now Lone Wolf Woman, but that's another story) I would not buy any more  guns since I have to feed the cannon....   cuch
