Went to the Metrolina Flea market today and dug these two powder horns out of a box of junk.  One is a flat horn and the other a  southern style powder horn.  The lady said they came from an estate sale in Randolph county.  She showed me a tin type of a Confederate soldier Jediah Branch .  He was in the 36th regiment one of the " Uwharrie Boys".  The picture showed a soldier with I believe the flat powder horn I bought. Fortunately she didn't see it in the picture.  If she had she would not have probably  sold it.  I wanted the tin type and the horn but she didn't want to sell  it so I just came home with 2 powder horns.  I get first dibs on the tin type  if she decides to sell it.   I got both of them for $20  so I was happy.   I was especially happy to get some history to go along with the horns. I am going to do some research on the soldier and see what battles he may have fought in.

Very good deal.
"One man's trash is another man's treasure."  She must have thought they were trash to sell them for $10/each.
