Always had a thing for Scandinavian blades
I have Moras and Martinis but im dign this new Helle

Wow, workers who still know how to do something by hand in  manufacturing a quality product... Power tools--sure, but all hand guided and controlled. Darned nice looking knife. Now put it to work.

Mountain Man,, I strongly disagree :qz:  you need to package that blade back up!!  and send it to me ;D ;D ;D

Mountain Man

I have used Moras for years and i even have very nice Martini lumber jack
Ive been wanting to try a Helle for awhile and had a chance for a trade and took it
Harlem quality stuff, even the sheath is top notch hand made an fit couldnt be happier
Its a 4.25" blade so unless i come across a coyote this winter it wont get bloody till fall of 16 its not a small game knife
I plan on putting some more time into front loader hunting this year a wanted a knife to match
Now i picked up a Bark River micro Canadian for small game chores im almost as excited about
Ill post some pics of that little girl very well done also

I had a cheap model Mora for decades but treated it badly. It was carbon steel. The last time I saw it, it was rusty and I gave it away to someone who will take better care of it.

Mountain Man

Cant go wrong with any Mora especialy for the price
They do make stainless steel blades if you dont like the care needed for carbon
I was going to order a few of there blanks for some antlers i have hanging around

Good looking knife Mt. Man.  I'll have to check them out.  I like blades from Norway and Sweden . They're always good steel.  I have a blade I got from Track of the Wolf that I made into a good skinning knife  I have skinned 4 deer out with it and it still has a good edge.  I believe it is from Brusletto from Norway.  It wasn't that expensive either.

Mountain Man

Most of the Nordic blades are lamitnated high carbon steel
Good good stuff
And scandi and flat grinds last long and sharpen easy
I got a new little skinner too

Patocazador

That skinner and, especially, that ROA are more my cup of tea. For deer hunting, a small knife is my cup o' tea.
