Installation of Patchbox?

OK you gun building guru's,,,,,,,,,,,how involved is putting a patchbox into the stock?  never seen one on nor off, but have something I would truly like to have a box installed. So lay it on me,,easy? difficult? tedious?  I am all ears,hoping I could possibly  do this

Metal or wood? 1 piece, 3 piece, or 5 piece (if metal)? I have put in several of the one piece CVA/Traditions or T/C style ones, but I have been a cabinet maker since the 70"s and for me it was easy. The sliding wood ones require not only machining the wood and cover to match but involve springs and latches in the butt plate. The multi piece covers also employ a spring and latch. For some it would be easy, but without the right tools could prove to be a challenge. P.M. me and I can walk you through it if you like. (It's nice to have at least one area of expertise, I do suck at so many others)

Take a hole saw - cut hole and cover with cardboard - - - simple :)       now you know why I don't play with tools

Remember Booshyway or not I still have the ability to ban you for Blasphemy.... and "if our fearless leader will donate to me 1 of his smoke-poles"  is close to blasphemy!  I collect I do not donate...  Every once in a great while I will allow myself to be persuaded to sell one of my cherished rifles/pistols/or smoothbores to some worthy young pilgrim who might just be the one to carry the tradition on after I pass to the great beyond... But that is a tall order and I never donate them!

Well, I reckon that settles that one then ,,for I am certainly not  young nor a pilgrim!  I just assumpted  that being you are chasing a higher education,and neglecting said smoke-poles that some-one (me) could be of assistance

What's worse than all that is now that he has become edjumakated, he thinks he is better than the rest of us and that we should send all our firearms to him for safekeeping. That way we won't hurt ourselves in our inerudite manner.
