Modified Renegade

  Here are a few pictures of a modified Renegade I finished fore a customer. It has a 62 cal. rifled and smooth boar barrel in a modified maple stock. The forestock is longer than on a Renegade and has a end cap. Aquafortis stain with true oil finish.

That...is absolutely gorgeous!  That must be the best looking "Renegade" that's ever been made!  Is that a new lock or did you engrave the original?

  Original parts on the rifle are;
butplate
trigger guard
Lock
barrel tang
everything else has been replaced. The lock is as it came from T.C.

I am not a fan of Renegades for several reasons, but if they started looking even close to what you have done, I could be swayed. I love the stock! Nice job.

    my guess is 1 rifled  barrel and 1 smoothbore barrel.  Bought a CVA once that said .50/.54 yet had a .50 barrel,  also had a .54 barrel off to the side that I did not see, right off.

  OK!!    A swap barrell gun! Sometimes the old needle gets stuck ina groove....my wife just slaps me up side th head, when I ask somethin like that!

  Ya sweed, your wife must be related to mine,  anyways it has both G.M drop in barrels of 62 cal.

OK  again, Im in the dark here on switch barrel guns so some dumb questions are in order: 

Can you carry a barrel loaded? 

If so how long does it take to swap out the barrel? (in the field) 

How lazy can one person be to not do any home work fore askin questions? ? ? ?

      With my Lyman Great Plains Riofle,  I have 2 barrels,  One for roundball, 1/60 twist and 1 for sabots, 1/32 twist Hunter.   Both have  a compatable "Hooked Breach & Tang".    I decide which barrel /projectile I will use,  Remove ramrod, remove barrel wedge, half cock hammer and lift out barrel,  then replace with other barrel and reinstall the wedge and the ramrod and load and shoot.  I don't carry an extra barrel into the field.

Well I am the lucky owner of that Renegade that Jim did for me.  It has two 62 cal GM barrels.  One smooth and jug choked full and the other rifled.  She shoots great and looks as good.  I luckily got the wood for free from a hardwood grader who works at a local hardwood mill.   Thanks Jim.
