One of the fellas at my muzzleloader club wanted to gift something specical to another club member. He gave me the knife and said do whatever I like.....so this is what I came up with.

Quilled, bark tanned leather on deer rawhide. With elk hair, coyote claw and a little beadwork. And alittle elk rawhide on the handle as the scales were lose. This beast took forever. I have been slowly working on it since the club's winter shoot back in feburary.

I really dont have a recipe. I put two packets of kool aid in some boiling water, added a cup of vinegar let cool a moment then soaked the quills for a couple hours. To get the orange color I used........orange koolaid!

Actually I have used the Walmart great value brand koolaid which is still only 20 cents a package. And two packages will dye a batch of quills.
