I hope I'm not going to thought of as a jerk, but the "purse'is "cute" and I understand it's for your wife and all, but,it's really not what we would all concider "Traditional"

I DO understand the philosiphy of our site, belive me, I'm a cheapo from WAY back. And using items that are dual purpose is encouraged, this bag doesn't fit to well.

Nobody will tell you you cant shoot with us,or tell you to take it off,but the butterfly is a little much.

Yes they had canvas bag'sback then, yes, there was embroidering being done, but none in this combo. And if your just starting out, this show's your headed in the right direction! but i would replace it asap.

I've been making bags for quite a while, and simple bag's are easy to do. I think we even have a tutorial or two here. The goodwill is AWSOME for raw materials! I but leather coat's for @ 2-3 buck's,ya get alot of leather from them!

Again,I appreciate what your trying to do,just a little friendly advice from a crotchetty old fart.

She likes it. It is just she and I, No BP shooting clubs we can participate in. I do appreciate the observation. I think it will look good beside her rifle.  hi:

Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Fatty

You did get her matching moccasins to go with that lovely purse, right?

If your wife is happy w/the bag, that's what counts. My wife's bag is sewn from sand colored suede chap wt. cowhide because that's the color she picked @ Tandy leather. To me it doesn't look very "traditional", but it's what she wanted and she likes it. I used the left over leather to make a small bag fopr my .36 CVA squirrel rifle & a pr. of Tandy style mocs that I wore around the house until our beagle + ? pup ate them one day.

I like nothing better than going to a shoot and see a guy's wife and kid's there shooting as a family! And although their gear is NOWHERE NEAR prime, I think they are the best dressed bunch out there! A litle girl in a 100% polyester indian "princess" dress, minetonka mocc's and plastic feather head band is THE BEST! Makes me grin ear to ear EVERY time. And I usually root through my gear and give the parent's something "prime" to give to the kid's.

We gotta feed it forward! thmbsup

From the other side  :mini-devil-28492:  We likes what we likes, and we do as we likes, !   Just some of  us have different  likes and dislikes.  all depends on how much you want to be one of the boys or do your own thing.   Just my 2 cents worth,  do to my vintage age I like to see as much of the old ways preserved and cultivated as possible but,  enjoy all the those times you as a family can be together, grow  and experince what it might have been.
