Here's my new bag I made last week, first one I've ever tried with leather, done a couple of canvas ones in the past. Used the plans that are floating around the internet then added some stuff I saw that I liked. Used 3/4 ounce leather, the insets are red wool, the four leather lacing hanging on the front I cut from the same leather an going to make game keepers out of them if I can get small enough brass rings. If I don't like it it will be easy to remove them. Leather isn't as red as it looks in the pics, the camera doesn't like the florescent lighting.

Inside is lined with red cotton material.

The quality of your work is just amazing.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Looks good for a 5th or 6th bag, let alone a first in leather. I think you've got a real knack.

I appreciate the comments guys but putting one of these together was a pain for me, my hands an finger joints hurt from all the sewing, so i don't think I'll be doing anymore for a long while, I'll just stick with making powder horns for now.

Beautiful, do you stitch by hand or use a machine?  Now I want one.   'shok'

Its all done by hand, I wish I had a machine that would sew leather like that, then my fingers wouldn't be sore.

Your hands and fingers will get tougher if you keep at it. I sewed my Son's hay chaps by hand, and they have about twice the stitches in
your bag. It does get easier with practice! ;D

Very nice indeed. I think hand stitched items give you far more satisfaction, in that it is truly hand made. thmbsup

I'd have to 2nd Woody on that!! I'll never have the same satisfaction with a purchased bag. Now that doesn't mean i wouldn't appreciate it..
