Beeswax/Olive Oil Lube and more

Does anyone besides me use olive oil and beeswax as a lube and protectant on their firearms?     I also use it as a wood oil, leather rub, lip balm and wind chap treatment. ET

I use it as a lube but haven't tried it for anything else yet.

I sometimes use beeswax mixed with neetsfoot oil for the same reasons and have used olive oil for lube.
There are a number of ways to soften the beeswax and make it useable by mixing with some kind of non-petroleum oil to soften it.

i used the beeswax/oil oil mix on my new bag and rain just rolls off it.

Have been using it for a long time in my revolver. Use a similar mix with some lanolin added for my BP cartridge rifles.

Has anyone ever tried castor oil instead of olive oil??

  Dont see why it wouldnt work.Most any natural oil will work. Whether from tallow or vegatable.

I've got 3/4 lb of UNSALTED butter any reason I couldn't use that?

I made one batch of Beeswax/olive oil/lard patch lube this time last year and it had held up very well, does not melt in the warmer weather and doesn't seem to freeze up either. Wish I had more of an idea what the eventual mix ratio was...........................................

might work if you boil the water out of it and just use the oil...ghee is the name...

I do and I've been known to add a bit of Murphy's oil soap to the mix.
